Ric is a self-taught photographer, with no specific photographic genre and considers any subject a potential photograph. He strives to keep his art simple and prefers to focus on the smaller components of an otherwise bigger picture. Ric relishes working in snow where the clutter can be neutralized, and the subject is never in doubt. Being that Ric is inspired by 20th century surrealist painters, he does, on occasion, insert an unrelated element into a scene, his way of provoking thought. Although Ric’s most popular work has been focused near his northwestern Pennsylvania home, his portfolio contains images from all over the United States and Canada.
